More and more I’m searching for ways to approach the borders of medal art, from in or outside this medium. In Men in Cars I used video art to creep up to the medal art borders. In the project Postcards I use the bronze relief of a medal to create an interactive installation. The bronze reliefs are situated in different places of interest in the Netherlands and abroad. People can take paper and a pencil or other crayon to rub the image of the bronze plaques onto the paper. The plaques have the size and the image of a postcard. The image has a connection with the place of interest. People can send the image by post to friends or keep the image and place it into a frame.

There is a box with a sketchbook and pencil available from shops near by the plaques.

There will be a map with the GPS coordinates of the plaques. This makes it easier to collect all of the images.
