‘Culture – Nature’ is made to highlight the difference between the nature we find in the wild and that found in parks or zoos. Coming across an animal in the wild arouses quite different feelings than seeing one behind bars. Our ‘taming’ of nature over centuries have allowed us to feel a sense of safety and control and this security is felt in zoos. They permit us to enjoy wild animals, to study them and approach them in safety.
